I am using three methods of measuring the DE: oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer and Stetzer meter. I am filtering with three types of filters some of which work better in combination with each other. Of course nothing works as well as identifying the source of the DE and replacing it with a UPS battery backup unit that does not create DE in the first place.
Using a properly configured oscilloscope and spectrum analyzer is much more informative than using a Stetzer meter alone. They provide details on which frequencies are present and reduced by various filters and is most helpful in this work.
A combination of filters proved to be the best filtering solution and would have been fairy effective @ a cost of over $20,000. There was a better and less costly way: see below.
The final solution was to replace all of the Battery Backup UPS power supply units with alternate units that did not create any DE. This was far more effective and far less expensive than the various DE filter configurations that were considered and tested. Once again the most effective solution is to identify and replace the source of the DE.
